To Whom It May Concern,
I learned about Mike Kmiotek and his work in the spring of 2006, when I was seeking an artist willing to display his or her work at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Mike's light-hearted, kinetic sculptures are very unique, and the five sculptures he installed in the gardens were an instant hit.
Over the past few years, Mr. Kmiotek has placed the following sculptures in the gardens: Man and Dog; Preying Mantis; Master Gardener; How to Build a Birdhouse; Fall From Grace; and three different abstracts, one of which is now a permanent installation in front of the main building.
The sculptures have greatly enhanced our plantings and people often comment on them. We are pleased with the relationship we have with Mr. Kmiotek, who continues to rotate sculptures through the gardens, keeping things very interesting. Mike periodically visits the gardens to make sure his sculptures are in top shape, and occasionally offers suggestions on plants around his sculptures.
It is a pleasure to work with Mike. His sculptures have become a must see attraction in our Gardens.
